TIMBERLAND BOOTS: HOW TO CLEAN, PROTECT & REMOVE STAINS
CLEANING AND PROTECTION
Your Timberlands are an investment, and like any good work tool, they'll last longer if you take proper care of them. Caring for suede and nubuck leather doesn't have to be difficult: in fact, cleaning Timberland boots is a simple process of removing excess dirt, gently wiping away stains, and brushing to extend their life.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Here's what you need to clean your leather or suede boots:
- Waterproofing spray (make sure you have the right one)
- Boot brush or old towel
- Recommended Timberland cleaning products
- Replacement laces (when needed)

CLEANING STEP BY STEP
The cleaning process is the same for all boot types, but it's important to know the different types of leather and how each reacts to different cleaning methods. This step-by-step guide can be followed over time to refresh all types of your Timberland shoes and boots to keep them in their original condition:
- Remove the laces so you can properly clean the entire surface of the shoe.
- Use the Timberland brush and brush the entire
surface of the shoe to remove all dirt—this is
key to proper cleaning, so if necessary, brush twice. - See the table above and choose the correct cleaners for the type of shoe you are cleaning.
- Apply the product with a sponge or cloth and clean it.
- Brush your boots with the suede brush (if they are suede or nubuck leather) to restore them to their original texture.
- Remove dark marks or stains with the recommended product for your shoe type.
- Wash the laces individually and re-lace them to make your shoes look like new!

BALM PROOFER WATER & STAIN REPELLENT
This Timberland® balm is the best way to extend the life of your clothes, shoes, and accessories. Designed to protect most fabrics from stains and water without affecting the material's breathability. It protects cotton, polyester, canvas, leather, suede, nubuck, nylon, and fabric from water and stains, without affecting the material's breathability. Ideal for most types of footwear, clothing, and accessories, except those marked Dry Clean Only (also available in XL size at 200ml).
Instructions for Use: After cleaning your shoes with a damp cloth, spray evenly from a distance of 15-20cm on a clean and dry surface. Allow to dry for at least 30 minutes. If you spray your shoes while they are new, their maintenance will be even better.
BOOT SAUCE ™ CLEANER
- Removes dirt and stains from smooth leather, canvas, nylon, rubber, and vinyl.
- Features an integrated sponge for economical application.
- Not recommended for suede or nubuck leather.
Instructions for Use: After brushing your shoes to remove dirt or dust residue, apply an amount to a damp cloth and rub it over the entire surface of the shoe.
BOOT SAUCE™ CONDITIONER
- Cleans, softens, and shines all smooth and polished leathers
- Features an integrated sponge for mess-free application.
- Not recommended for suede or nubuck leather
Instructions for Use: After cleaning your shoes with a damp cloth, apply a small amount of the cream evenly over the entire surface of the shoe using the included sponge. Polish with a dry, clean cloth.
WAXIMUM® WAXED LEATHER PROTECTOR
- Easy to apply waterproof treatment
- Softens and protects oily and waxed leather without compromising breathability
- Not recommended for suede or nubuck leather
Directions for use: After cleaning your shoes with a damp cloth, apply the cream evenly with a clean cloth. Work the cream well into the leather to restore lost elasticity. Frequent use brings excellent results.
AIR RAIDER™ BOOT AND SHOE REFRESHER
- Works to eliminate odors in footwear and prevent mold and mildew stains
- Ideal for all footwear
Instructions for use: Spray inside your shoes from a distance of 10cm. Allow to dry before wearing. Use regularly for best results.
RENEWBUCK FOAMING CLEANER
- It works to remove tough stains, such as salt, grass, mud and tomato sauce
- Ideal for suede and nubuck footwear, such as the classic Timberland boot
Instructions: Remove dust and dirt from the shoe's surface with a brush and use a clean, dry cloth to apply the cleaner to the stained area. Then wipe again with a clean cloth to remove any excess. Finally, brush again to smooth the surface.
